The question your English Bible can’t quite answer

In Acts 9:7, Luke tells us that the men traveling with Paul to Damascus “heard the voice but saw no one.” Later, in Acts 22:9, Paul tells the same story himself — and says the men “saw the light, but did not hear the voice.” So which is it? Did they hear the voice or not? Read only in English, that looks like Scripture contradicting itself. Read it in Greek, it isn’t a contradiction at all.
